Music Meme
May. 28th, 2010 12:42 pmOver the past week or two, I've unsuccessfully visited iTunes several times; I can't find anything that I want to listen to. So I'm innocently doing this little meme, hoping y'all have some good current favorites. 'Cause I need something new.
1. Slowly by Infected Mushroom - No lyrics; Electronic - I'm not a techno fan, but Infected Mushroom is pretty addicting. This particular song reminds me of Sonic the Hedgehog and an old Sega Genesis game called Sub-Terrania.
2. Franks by Infected Mushroom - No lyrics; Electronic - I love the opening melody as it becomes later developed, but really, it's the bells & chimes that clenches it. Who uses bells & chimes in electronic music?
3. Oltremare by Ludovico Einaudi - No lyrics; Piano - I see a pattern here: I've always been a band nerd in love with instruments. I love this piece. This particular composer is amazing. Terri found him, and I highly recommend his music if you're into piano pieces.
4. Interlude by Attack! Attack! - No lyrics; Rock - It's a short little jam fest that leaves your fingers itching for an instrument of your own.
5. Advent: One-Winged Angel - ACC Long Version by Nobuo Uematsu - No lyrics; Soundtrack/Orchestra/Rock - *Cough* This piece is almost too amazing for words: Full Orchestra, Full Choir, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drum Set. Guh. Nobuo Uematsu is amazing.
6. Tidal (Instrumental Version) by Imogen Heap - No Lyrics; Alternative - I really like the song with the lyrics, but I love this instrumental version. It's something about the rhythm - that shifting "missed" beat. I'm still a sucker for syncopation.
7. Sunburn by Owl City - Lyrics; Electronic - This is a really cute song, and I love it because it's completely Terri/Andy. XD Seriously. Listen to it, and you'll understand that this song was written for them!
