Lunar Eclipse!
Dec. 21st, 2010 01:27 amAnyone gonna stay up for the Lunar Eclipse tonight? It might be a little shy of crazy for y'all out Californy way - it's even a little crazy here - but it is a rare thing to behold!
If you look outside right now, the shadow has already started passing over the moon. :D
The actual eclipse will start at 2:41AM EST and the full eclipse at 3:17AM EST. ...So I'm basically staying up until 4.
Good thing I have lots of practice at that. XD
ETA: LOL. I'm pretty much retarded. I did my math backwards. Good thing I was watching the whole night or I would have missed it! XD Ahh... I hate my job sometimes. lol (Pulls me between time zones constantly.)
It was amazing! The sky cleared up exactly as the moon became a deep maroon/dark grey, gentle whisps of clouds artfully streaked around it. The stars were incredible, brilliant against the black sky and perfectly clear! And then there was a big shadow. :D I could have watched forever! Wish I could have taken a picture!
I hope at least some of y'all saw it!
