Ugh. This is why Spring will never be my favorite season. _-_ Asthma and allergies for most of today - you know how hard it is to be "out of breath" and speak with a highly sensitive microphone right next to your mouth? And you can't let people hear you breathe! That's just rude! ;_; But every time I get a chance to "catch my breath" (impossible with asthma, but you know... or maybe not, but anyway.) I have to sneeze! >.<
Anyway, there's a meme floatin' 'round teh flist, so's I've snatched it! Jacked from mrstater and
godricgal. :)
1. A body of water, smaller than a river, contained within relatively narrow banks.
I have a tendency to call everything a river, but the proper term is a creek or stream.
2. What the thing you push around the grocery store is called.
A shopping/grocery cart
3. A metal container to carry a meal in.
Lunch pail? But no one uses those anymore; we use lunch boxes. How old is this thing? They're not metal anymore...
4. The thing that you cook bacon and eggs in.
Skillet or frying pan
5. The piece of furniture that seats three people.
Sofa or couch
6. The device on the outside of the house that carries rain off the roof.
Gutter
7. The covered area outside a house where people sit in the evening.
Porch
8. Carbonated, sweetened, non-alcoholic beverages.
Coke, Soda, or Dr. Pepper - I use all three and each needs further clarification here in Texas. XP A coke could mean Sprite, and though I always mean Dr. Pepper when I say it, I always have to clarify.
9. A flat, round breakfast food served with syrup.
Pancakes
10. A long sandwich designed to be a whole meal in itself.
Sub - And Subway sucks with their 6 slices of meat. *rolls eyes*
11. The piece of clothing worn by men at the beach.
Speedo?? XD Uh... Swimming shorts.
12. Shoes worn for sports.
Tennies! or Tennis shoes. My little sister says sneakers just to irritate me.
13. Putting a room in order.
Cleaning or tidying up
14. A flying insect that glows in the dark.
Firefly or lightning bug or, when I was little, fairies! :D
15. The little insect that curls up into a ball.
Rolly polly - one of the few bugs you can describe as cute.
16. The children's playground equipment where one kid sits on one side and goes up while the other sits on the other side and goes down.
See-saw
17. How do you eat your pizza?
With my hands. We always make fun of my mom, though; she eats it with a knife and fork due to her upbringing in foreign countries.
18. What's it called when private citizens put up signs and sell their used stuff?
Garage or Yard sale; I usually say garage, but I get picky if the sale is actually taking place in the yard.... ^^
19. What's the evening meal?
Dinner
20. The thing under a house where the furnace and perhaps a rec room are?
Basement - we don't have those in Texas, though. Strangely, I might add. Because you'd think that we'd have them just for the danger of tornadoes, but if we have anything that's underground, it's completely separate, aka storm shelters. Which are rare, as far as I know.
21. What do you call the thing that you can get water out of to drink in public places?Germ infested Water or drinking fountain
I Am: a 21-yr-old Texan whose largely non-existant accent comes and goes, brought up in the DFW metroplex with two parents who were raised in foreign countries. :)
And for the record, I will never, ever shop at Joseph A. Bank - and neither should you! >.> Their employees are so full of themselves! I haven't had a single one call in that was humble or remotely polite yet!
ETA: EEP!! I used the wrong "there!" *hangs head in shame*
