Coffee Complaints
Apr. 22nd, 2008 09:59 amEvery now and then, I think something in my mind that sounds strangely poetic, meaning that I could see myself continuing it off in verse. It's always humorous, and this morning, it was about my dad and coffee. In Dr. Suess fashion, I would use absurd examples and long winded words. Of course, the absurd examples would all be true. But seeing as how I don't want to go about today with my thoughts rhyming, I'm refusing to continue it.
Seriously, though? My dad needs help. I mean... I understand coffee being strong for some people, but this is ridiculous. You know what he did one day? He used TWELVE TABLESPOONS of coffee for SIX CUPS of water! It. Was. Terrible! And yesterday, he did 8 for 4! He always discovers that he doesn't quite like it that strong, though I'm pretty sure he did 4.5 for 6 cups today. He's pleased with himself; I'm thinking about getting a petition and having the rest of the family sign so he doesn't make coffee anymore.
While I can drink it how he makes it, coffee, in my opinion, is not supposed to be bitter after every sip. - Unless you're eating donuts or something, which I don't think I'll ever understand the appeal. Preferably, it should almost be neutral. Not sweet, not bitter, just smooth and toasty and.... coffee.
The funny thing is that whenever I make it, both my mom and dad decide they like it best that way; whenever we have company, they grab me and say, "Here. Make." Well, it's not super strong! 3.5 for 6; 2.25 for 4; nearly 5 for 8! Just follow the instructions and add a little bit more! >.< It's not that hard!!
