So the day was long and nothing but shopping. The Imax has been saved for tomorrow. All I picked up through the whole day was Killswitch Engage's The End of Heartache, which has been redone or something. Anyway. It's hardcore. *points to smiley*
The highlight of the day was when I took my mom into Hot Topic. She'd already acquiesed to listening to Co & Ca in the car since I couldn't bring Ace with which to jam. Taking her in the store, though? Hilarious.
I told her that she wouldn't like it, but she was determined to "see why [I] like it so much." The first thing she said when we walked in and she saw some of the t-shirts was, "*gasp!* How gruesome!" XD
She blanched at the employees, sporting full mohawks, black nail polish, multiple arm bands and bracelets, and full black attire. And then was equally surprised when they turned out to be pretty nice folks.
"So is this what this place is known for?" she asked me quietly as I scanned the rows of shirts along the walls. "The t-shirts?"
I laughed. "No. Well... It's the place to get them for your favorite rock bands and Adult Swim tv shows. But really it's... just dedicated to the rock 'n' roll, emo, and mainly gothic culture. Cultures. They intersect and separate... or something."
"Oh. So. You like... emoo?"
"Eee-moe. I like it, but am not."
"What?!" She was horrified.
XD Ahh. That was awesome. She was excited when she found some stuff from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends (awesome show!): that was good. She had something in common.
Interestingly enough, this was the first time that I actually fit in with the style walking into that store. Every other time, I've always been dressed business casual, for whatever reason. No matter what! Today, I was decked out in my black Halo 3 tee, a long sleeve skulls & bones undershirt underneath and covered with a black sweater along with jeans and tennies. Not anywhere near gothic, but enough so that I didn't feel like a fish out of water. lol
Anyway, I'm being called to watch something called The Brothers Grim. I know nothing of this movie; perhaps I can sneak Ace along... ;)

Date: 2008-04-07 01:49 am (UTC)Seriously, the creeps? I dunno... I did when I first started going in there, but then I realized that I really like a lot of the stuff. Not the blatant... I guess unchristian stuff, but the store in general and what it offers? Yeah, it's awesome. ^^
