I'm so bored. XP Time for a meme!

Total number of books owned:
I have no idea; we own bookcases full that mostly my parents have bought, and I also used to be a library addict. Books that I've actually bought myself? Ehh... Somewhere around 20 or 30.

Last book bought:
Spin by Robert Charles Wilson

Last book read:

Uh... before Spin was......... Harvest Contact by Joseph Staten. A Halo novel.

Five books that mean a lot to you:

There are so many! I guess I can define time periods......

If You Give A Mouse A Cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff - Oh, come on! You know this was your favorite book when you were a kid! I am not ashamed! XP I wish they had like... some collectors edition of it or something. I'd pay! I used to read the book daily - until I realized that I was starting to memorize it. So I started reading once a week instead. XD I just loved that mouse. He was so cute!

Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein - Please tell me someone else knows this book! It's a book of poetry, and I never would have cared anything about poetry without it. I used to hate poetry. lol I don't know why. But something about this book always inspired me.

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas - Yeah, it's old and tragic and super sad, but it's my favorite book of all time!!

Circle of Magic Series by Tamora Pierce - I was really a bookworm when I read these, and they really captured my imagination. Between 6th grade and 9th grade, I pretty much "forgot" my writing aspirations - not that I didn't still want to do it, but it wasn't so important. Reading these books changed that in the summer, and 9th grade was when I really started writing as a hobby in my spare time.

Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling - Well, this was a duh. Even though I'm very angry with the sideline plots of the Deathly Hallows, I am a fan of how the core plot was resolved. (Er... mostly. Come on? A reflected spell?! So not cool.) JKR so thoroughly ensnared my interest and imagination. It's such a wonderful world with such amazing characters. I just really love what she created! She wrote about magic and practically created it! And I've made a lot of friends just because of that, not to mention grown a lot myself as a writer. ;)

Shel Silverstein for the EPIC win! That man was the Jim Henson of poetry.

Yes!! I don't even remember what my favorite ones were from it, which is sad considering how many times I checked it out.

I need to go to B&N or Boarders and snurch it from the kiddies section!

Book meme! Awesome. Except picking only five books? That'll require some serious thought.

And Where the Sidewalk Ends? I bought that for my kids this last Christmas even though they aren't really old enough for it yet, because I love it that much.

Yeah, I know! I wanted to include a lot more, but then it would have been a really long one! lol

Sweetness! Startin' 'em early. 8) The story behind my reading the book was an accident. I checked it out from the library just by looking at the cover and reading the summary on the back - I didn't flip through. When I got home and started reading, I was SO! angry! And I didn't pick it up again until the last day before it was due - and discovered I loved it. I needed more time, but the next day, I couldn't re-check it out because it was on a waiting list by then! D: I had to wait a month before I could get it again! That book was always on the waiting list!
