This is that Sci-Fi Friending Meme (which you can find -->here<--). I liked the questions, but I'm not into grabbing random buddies based on a few common similar interests. So I figured I'd post it here (and added a couple questions I thought were missing)! :D Because I'm bored. XP

This is actually pretty hard; I have so many favorites I can't remember half of them! So I know there's more than what I listed here.

Fandom
Favorite SF shows: Stargate SG-1, Star Trek: The Next Generation, The X-Files, Stargate Atlantis, Ghost Whisperer...
Favorite SF films: IRONMAN!, Titan A.E., The X-Files, Treasure Planet, War of the Worlds, Serenity, Return of the Jedi, Armegeddon (Bruce Willis!!! ;_; )... - I'm sure Wall-E will be joining shortly
Favorite SF books: Halo Novel Series, Spin, Journey to the Center of the Earth.....Uh.. can't think...
Favorite SF games: Final Fantasy (some of them count!!), Halo, Kingdom Hearts (it soooo counts!), Xenosaga, Metal Gear Solid
Favorite SF ships/pairings:  Sam/Jack, ZechsxNoin, HeeroxRelena, Mulder/Scully, Cale/Akima
Favorite SF manga/anime: Gundam Wing - so much more than Sci Fi, though. Bleach (???), Evangeleon, The Lensman, Gundam Seed
Favorite SF comic books: N/A

Misc

Favorite constellation, planet, or moon in our solar system: Favorite planet would have to be Jupiter! cuz that's where boys go to get more stupider. Actually, I've always been fascinated by the Giant Red Spot. You know that thing alone can fit three Earths? And that the winds are blowing at a constant 300mph or more?

Favorite planet in a fandom:
Uhm... I'd have to say Reach from the Halo novels, because the ruins there, though they'll probably never be explained, were amazing. (Oh noes. I sound like Daniel!)

Favorite alien/alien race in a fandom:
THE ASGARD!! Little gray buddies! :DDD From SG-1.

Favorite evil alien/alien race in a fandom: Love the idea of the Drej from Titan AE. The Replicators from SG-1 are awesome; Goa'uld classic. The Flood from Halo are naaaasty, but I think I'd have to say that Purity, though it's not a real alien (until it infects you!) is my favorite, evil evil villian. From the X-Files, of course. Ohdearfuzzy! I almost forgot Q!

Favorite spacecraft in a fandom:
My Gummi Ship The Enterprise.... o.o Predictable, but true! It has the Holodeck and Warp Speed and lasers and Captain Picard and Data and Worf!!

Time travel or space travel?:
Space travel! After all, if you travel at the speed of light, then there's the whole relativity thing goin' for ya', so it's like both at the same time, anyway. But cooler 'cuz you live longer and you get to TRAVEL THROUGH SPACE. 8)

THE VERY SRS FINAL QUESTION

Star Trek or Star Wars?: Star Trek, hands down. Not that SW wasn't cool, but GL killed it. Dead. Like murdered it. It was gruesome - you watched it if you saw the most recent three!

Ooh, excellent meme. This is definitely going on my 'do when I need something to post about' list, lol.

Ever read Ender's Game?

Scweet! :D Can't wait to read your answers, too!

Ugh. Unfortunately, yes, I have read it. I didn't like it at all. My freshman year of college, my Journalism teacher told me to read it as a fictional source of information on video games.

I think it was mainly the family thing; his brother and sister went bezerk on earth, and he far far far outlived them - never met them again, in fact.

I think I would have liked the book a lot better if there was more of a family thing in it, because I liked the idea, but... That ending thing with the giant and the egg was weird, too. O.o I wondered if it was explained in later books, but I didn't like it, so I've never actually been that curious.

Hmm, that's interesting. I definitely understand your point. I love Orson Scott Card, but ... his work frequently has themes of tragedy and unhappiness, and almost always leaves me uncomfortable. Interestingly, that's always been one of the things that I like about his books/stories - usually I'm more of a happy ending kind of girl. Anyway, I was thinking about sci-fi books and that was the first one that popped into my head. I haven't read it in forever, though.

Yeah, I liked his writing style. Like really liked it, and I liked the whole... Oh, I can't remember their names, but the little political battle they were having and their code names or whatnot. I thought it was all very interesting, but I just wanted happiness for the characters. :( I couldn't really enjoy it without that; especially with how much they used Ender!

I thought about it too when I was filling this out; it just wasn't a favorite... ;)

LOL It's by [livejournal.com profile] not_a_zatarc. :D

I wish you could just buy icon space without purchasing a subscription to LJ. Not that I wouldn't purchase the latter, but it'd be nice!
