I took one of these type tests about two years ago, only you just got one score instead of two, and then it broke everything down into social, economic, and foreign; I scored 80% Conservative then, which put me just to the left of being a so-called radical. I did like that one better - the answers could be more true, and I wish I could find it again!
Even so, this one was really good!
"I strongly prefer Conservative/Liberal to Republican/Democrat," shoulda been a question! *shakes fist at republicans*
These two questions threw me, though:
Books with potentially deadly knowledge (like instructions for making awesome bombs) should be regulated.
I've never really thought about this issue since high school and that fiasco with Harry Potter. (Y'all remember that? Parental groups were wanting the books banned from public and school libraries because of the witchcraft thing.) I was against it then, and considering what I want my occupation to be, you'd think I'd be against this entire thing 100% easily. And, when I think about it, I think I am set against it, but I can understand the mindset that would be in favor of it. Still, then you get to the point of who decides what is dangerous. *points above to HP* I'm not in favor of trading feedom for some false security - there's a thing called the internet now, and it should *not* be regulated. Even if you have the books out, what are the probabilities that you'd be able to design an atomic weapon in your backyard, anyway? I mean, you'd have to engage in other sorts of crime or at minimal, suspicious activity, which is why we have law enforcement and the FBI.
Okay. So now that I've talked through that, I'm 100% dead set against. ;)
Eventually, a computer will write the best novel ever written.
WHAT??!! WHO THINKS THIS?!! And why is it political? Cloning??? Is that what they're aiming for? Even so, the nerve! If anyone thinks this.... UGH!

You are a Social Conservative (33% permissive) and an... Economic Conservative (86% permissive) You are best described as a:

Date: 2008-09-19 09:02 pm (UTC)Computers being able to think for themselves, and do creative things, beyond their programming blows my mind. How can they do more than they're programmed to? I know it's possible, but it does not compute!!

Date: 2008-09-19 10:53 pm (UTC)I just fervently believe that humans will always hold the creative keys. That is something that is expressly human. Plus anything that is the best in a creative field is obviously subjective, and as a personal belief, I don't think that anything in the creative world can be classified as the "best." There are bests plural. ;D

Date: 2008-09-19 10:56 pm (UTC)Yeah, exactly. Nobody can agree on a best novel written by humans; I don't think even a really good one written by a computer would be unanimously voted in by everyone. There'd be someone out there who'd refuse to accept it as having any humanity in it. ;)

Date: 2008-09-19 11:04 pm (UTC)Oh, that would be a fun pointless debate. :D
I can just imagine documentaries following a robot to attempt showing its humanity and detractors going after the filmmaker instead. lol
The Animatrix actually has an excellent prediction, I think, of robots in society rising up against us after we deny them the privileges of humanity. It was very creepy, but very probable, too.

Date: 2008-09-19 11:52 pm (UTC)I think the most annoying thing in the third one (aside from the poor writing and everything else but the graphics) was the Zion side story which became the main plot. Who cared about those charaters, anyway? The Matrix wasn't even about the Matrix anymore!

Ugh. Seriously. And then at the end humanity just stayed in the Matrix?? So what was the friggin' point of all three of those movies??
Such a waste.

And then at the end humanity just stayed in the Matrix??
Well, I remember that they compromised or something?? Like the machines agreed they would die out and humans would eventually be allowed out? O_o I dunno. It was stupid. lol
