fantastic_jackie: (Politics - Endangered)

In all honesty, for many people across the nation, it hasn't been for a while.

If you read no other political post of mine, I ask you to read this one. I'm normally cool with it, but this one is really important. These are things that everyone needs to know. - And of course, if you're not an American, you're exempt from my request. This is our fight, so...

I don't beg very often, guys. I'm begging you to read this one.

Understand that I am neither in favor of the GOP nor the DNC - I am merely a citizen who loves her nation very much, a capitalist without a party, and someone who is very concerned over the direction our nation is headed. You NEED to know. This is YOUR country, too.

This post isn't all about the AIG bonuses, but it's a starting point that we all need to be equally caught up on in order for the post to proceed. If you're already aware of misdirections concerning the Fed's most recent mass-printing of money and the essential money laundering system that AIG has become for the federal government, then skip past the video. If not, then go through the link and watch the video; it's very easy to understand. Don't let any government official tell you this stuff is out of your league - it's not.

In the law that was passed concerning AIG receiving the bailout money, there was a provision included that any contracts and bonuses that were in place before Feb. 11, 2009, these HAD to be honored. Chris Dodd wrote the bill. The first thing I need for you to do is Read This Thread about the real issue of AIG. It's real short, I promise, and if you want sources, I've got them.

Next, check out this video from Glenn Beck that explains the other distraction. Again, it's only 4 minutes, and there's more of a reason than simply AIG that I'm asking you to watch this:

All right. So now we're caught up on the same page. Are you freaked out yet? Maybe? Check this out.

From the Constitution:

Article 1 Section 9

No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed.

Article 1 Section 10

No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation; grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal; coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts; pass any Bill of Attainder, ex post facto Law, or Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts, or grant any Title of Nobility.

So I'm not a conspiracy theorist, all right? The facts are all here. Basically what we have here is Government vs Citizens, only the citizens are blinded by their emotional reaction to $165 million in bonuses to realize that we're siccing Congress on ourselves! This isn't the first time, and it's not going to be the last.

We're being misdirected and lied to. Not by the democrats. Not by the repulicans. By the Government. This is why Tea Parties are spring up across the nation, so much so that the media can't ignore them as they did before. Tea Parties which are grassroots organized, run, and spoken at. There are stories of republican representatives being present at some of these, trying to speak, and they are DENIED every time because they are the problem!

This isn't about Republicans being right!
It's not about Conservatives being right!
It's not about Democrats beng right!
It's not about Liberals being right!

It's about you and me as American citizens standing up for the principles that this nation was founded upon which were so clearly and eloquently expressed in the Constitution, our founding documents, and the books, letters, and other writings of our Founding Fathers.

If we don't have principles and the rule of law, we have nothing! If Congress can just step in and alter your contracts, where is your trust in the system? If Congress can simply make laws regarding ONE company's SELECT group of employees, what makes you think the same can't be done to you? That's why it was put in the Constitution as being unConstitutional!

Can't you see that we're eating each other? We're so distressed and distracted by what's happening with our economy and the trillions of dollars that are being spent to "fix it" that in the chaos, we're turning on each other and blaming our fellow citizens.

It doesn't matter if they're wealthy and have more money than you. It doesn't matter that those particular bonuses were to be paid with taxpayer money. These people, these PEOPLE are CITIZENS of this nation FIRST! YOUR FELLOW CITIZENS! Congress put it in there with a purpose, they voted on it without reading it all so they could play on your emotions and reap the benefits of more power from you!

The government is NEVER on your side! Nowhere else are you more a number and statistic, a simple vote, than in the government's eyes. If you find government "on your side," then what it really means is that you've given up freedoms for their substitute of comfort which translates in government to one word: Control.

This is why it's beyond politics. This is why I've asked you to read. It's the very reason I and so many other former republicans and democrats have left the parties: they're both taking us in the same direction, and it is huge, massive, uncontrollable government.

Forget about our differences of ideology for a second here: Can't we agree that the Constitution NEEDS to be adhered to, respected, and revered? Can't we agree that every single one of our citizens, rich or poor, are entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? We're entitled to the rule of law, equal justice, and all the opportunities that this nation offers us. It doesn't mean we'll all be equally successful. If equality was the rule of the economy and we all had a million dollars, we'd all be equally miserable.

Can't we agree that this nation belongs to We the People? ALL the people! All the citizens!

This is OUR country, not the government's. The more power they take, the less freedoms we have. The more they step in, the farther we fall not only as a nation, but in confidence as individuals who begin to question if we can succeed without the government. They will continue to sieze power until We the People stand up against it. That is where we come in.

I'm not asking you to be a conservative. I'm asking you to be an American above party and politics: Look at what's happening to us.

Every Monday, I will be posting a non-Partisan discussion over an issue. It may be a current event, it may be a quote from our founders/founding documents, or it may be something else entirely. But it will pertain to America, and what I want for it to do is to foster a genuine discussion free of partisan politics: We're past the blame game now. It doesn't matter who did it - except that it was the government - it matters how we come together to fix it. I hope you'll participate in those, or at least read.

Glenn Beck puts it best when he asks, "Who were you on 9/12?" Who were you the day after 9/11? Politics didn't matter. Religion didn't matter. Race didn't matter. Sexual orientation didn't matter. We were all simply Americans, and that is what we need to be today.

We cannot avoid recession and depression forever; they're a natural part of every economic system. We cannot allow our government to play on our fears any longer as they garner up power for themselves. What we are doing is destroying the American way of life; it's time we stand up together and pledge our "lives, wealth, and sacred honor," for our fellow countrymen, for the country that has given us and the world so much. It's time that we stand for something and stop standing against the "Other Side."

Thank you very much for reading.

Sorry to be miss negativity, but Jacks - it's too early for you to expect anything as to bipartisan honesty. Everyone's still playing the blame game, not just DC. SO few people are willing to look at the facts -in fact, I'd say they're more likely to become violent when presented with them (physical or non) rather than actually look at and accept them open mindely -this on either side.

We're all still stuck in the awe phase of the messianic one coming into power -HE CAN SHALL DO NO WRONG IN THE EYES OF THE PPLS. (or just the opposite - HE ART THY ANTICHRIST!!*@&@#$!) -They're all too emotionally tied to the morons on Cap Hill to care about what they are really saying, much less DOING.

I think you're wasting your time.... but that's just me.

Maybe I am, but I can't do anything less. I'll continue to shout until people start listening and continue on afterwards. We all have to lead in our own ways if we want things to be brought to light and changed. I refuse to cower, even in the face of silence or willful ignorance. Doing the right thing is usually the hardest thing to do.

I also can't ignore the growing number of people like us who have had it with the destructional tendencies of both parties. We are so far from alone that I have no fear of either party's apologists. Maybe people will never wake up; maybe they'll never recognize that they're sleeping in the alternating mouths of the same two-headed dragon. But I can't continue to keep silent while both parties and the average American blinded by the lies of the government celebrate abandoning and desecrating the Constitution together.

Plain and simple: The government is crooked. Always has been, always will be. Doesn't matter which party you talk about or who gets the blame game. Either way, something has to be done about what's going on in America. This famous quote sums it up best, "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark." In our case, that rotten something just so happens to be our government. Post away. I'd be willing to read and see what's really going on (remember I told you I wanted to know what was going on besides what the biased media was saying).

Government being not quite honest is something that I've always acknowledged in the back of my mind, but this is the first time that I'm facing up to it. The only "part" of the "government" that I'll always trust is the military because those guys..... even if the highest leadership is a little off, they're real. They are absolutely dedicated to this country.

Our politicians and judges are not.

The party apologists are out there poo-pooing us as "purists," as if it's a bad thing that we've finally been pushed to a point of wanting to hold our elected officials accountable. It doesn't matter if you're a liberal or a conservative - both parties are going too far and there is zero accountability when they continually claim "the lesser evil." That's not good enough anymore. It never should have been good enough.

I hope you're ready to learn a lot with me. Obviously, "I'm" "lifting the ban" on political discussion between us. - And this is intended to be discussion; I don't want to debate unless it's as to the merits of our separate solutions. We have got to get past this partisan mentality as a nation if we want our country to remain at least as free as it is right now.
