We're on the road back to DFW after the extremely successful Tea Party in San Antonio. A more detailed report will follow, but here's a quick update:

Having only had 2.5 hours of sleep in the past 48 hours and walking/running a total between 4 & 6 miles today alone, I am exhausted. But wide awake.

Thousands showed up at San Antonio for Glenn Beck's live broadcast, and even more flooded in for the actual T.E.A. Party an hour later. It was packed and crowded in front of the Alamo, taking up pretty much the entire street and spilling into the surrounding embankments and adjacent streets. Even more gathered at Hemisfair Park a few streets over, connected to us by a jumbotron; I don't know how many were there - couldn't even guess.

Glenn was just pure awesomeness even with his refusal to do the Keynote address as he was adament that this was ours and not his. He is so sincere. - And no, I don't care if anyone thinks I'm being duped. They're wrong, end of story. - However, it was Ted Nugent who took the cake. What a Texan, what an American, and what an absolute amazing, rocking musician! Him and another lady whose name escapes me - legal immigrant to this nation and an amazing speech.

Thousands more Americans participated in thousands of Tea Parties across the nation. An est. 2000 TPs was my last update before Friday when things went crazy with my schedule - DO NOT believe the mainstream media about the measly 500 number they're reporting. It's a flat out lie, probably its original source being the misinformed Newt Gingrich site/organization who hopped on the bandwagon with the rest of the GOP.

Met a lot of people of similar opinions and saw a very few protestors, but we were all cordial to each other. Peeps loved Ter's and my protest sign; ironically, I took a lot of pictures with my sign, but none were on my own camera. LOL

I've gotta take over driving in 2 hours though, so I'll catch y'all later. Pic spam eminent. ;)

ETA: I almost forgot! We made Glenn an honorary Texan! :D He's lived here before, but you generally lose your status once you leave... We figure the rest of Texas will be inclined to overlook this particular case just for him. LOL (Yes, this is a joke. ... sort of. We were pretty excited about it when Ted Nugent declared it. I mean, not just anyone who doesn't live in Texas and wasn't native bred & born here at least gets to claim that auspicious title. No rly. We're particular about it. ^^)

You are welcome! Sorry it took me long enough but I think you're going to enjoy it. Since you're so hyped and tired from your big day, I figured you'd appreciate it this more once you've had a chance to breathe. At any rate, I read your other post and I must say I'm intrigued. I definitely want to hear more about the Tea Party but I'll wait until you're more coherent. ^__^

lol Coherency is apparently more elusive than one would think.

There are a lot of places you can find out about the Tea Parties. The MSM is trying to push them off as being purely concerned about taxes - to the point of one CNN "reporter" scolding one guy that he wasn't talking about taxes. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6xWGvdRQ9Q)

They were actually bipartisan (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QsY2r7HbTM), and hundreds of thousands of Americans took to the streets across the US fed up with Washington et al. We're tired of being lied to and ignored, we're tired of the spending, and we're tired of them trampling the Constitution for more power. Most of us want term limits, and for Congress to give up its benefits packages (which include the finest taxpayer paid healthcare, voting for their own pay increases, and a lifetime salary even if they only serve one term) and work to serve, we want a new tax code - the Fair or Flat Tax (I favor the latter) - we want the spending and expansion of government to cease and about face. We want corporations run by corporations and not the federal government, and for corporations to be allowed to fail when they fail. The bailouts need to end, and the stimulus package needs to be repealed. Our rich are not enemies of the people and certainly not of the state, let alone our veterans (http://forums.hannity.com/showpost.php?p=52646181&postcount=20), or those who are anti-abortion, anti-illegal immigration, anti-big government, and influcenced by the Christian faith (http://forums.hannity.com/showpost.php?p=52646181&postcount=20).

We want America to be what the Founders envisioned: a country of free, moral men, not a country of regulated freedoms and limitations. Republicans, democrats, libertarians, and independents <--that's me. :) attended these rallys and there are more to follow as well as a March on Washington on the 4th of July.
