Finally got to see HBP last night. - It's a long, infuriating story what happened on Tuesday night, involving Ter and I demanding our money back from the theater and dressing down the manager. - It. was. EXCELLENT!

They changed very few things! Most of the scenes covered were almost exactly as I'd imagined from the book!

My number one disappointment was, of course, Remus & Tonks... Much as I was excited about her calling him sweetheart, it seemed entirely random in the movieverse - there was no lead up or hint at it before then.

And I'd so been looking forward to the hospital scene. ;_;

But if they've taken the liberality to remove Remus' time with the werewolves, then maybe they'll be so generous in the 7th movies as to not kill them and Fred! :D Kill Hagrid.

It was really, really good, though. I think we've returned back to 1st and 2nd movie greatness with sticking to the book.

What I really loved that they added were the two glimpses at Snape during Dumbledore's death. - Seeing the half conversation where Snape laments that Dumbledore is asking too much of him, and then underneath when Snape arrives and tells Harry to lower his wand and remain quiet.

And all I can think is of his terrible end.

Poor, poor Snape.

It does make me wonder, though: Just how manipulative was Dumbledore about Snape especially?

It would make sense that after proving himself loyal to Dumbledore, he'd take steps to rid himself of ambiguity regarding whose side he was on, wouldn't it? Maybe he wouldn't have been willing to change who he was at all, but then it's also mighty convenient that he was able to play his part so well exactly into Dumbledore's hands.

And what, exactly, did Dumbledore expect Snape to do after his death? He couldn't go back to the Order; he had to stay by Voldemort's side, witness and carry out terrible things... Until his end. Brings to mind exactly what Snape said in the movie: "Do you ever consider, in that brilliant mind of yours, that you ask too much?"

I could squee about this movie, and the exactness and differences between it and the book for a long time. But I'll stop here. XP

It was a really good HP Movie. I can't wait to see it again this weekend!

In what context does Tonks call Remus sweetheart? Are they just in the middle of discussion about Other Things?

Well, they're really only present for one extended scene at the Burrow over the Christmas break. And Remus is a grouch. :(

Molly offers once again if they want to just stay for the holiday, but Tonks explain that he's worst... sometime around the moon. (I didn't catch it as I had a group of sniggering teens next to me.) At that point though, Remus notices something in the field before them. Tonks says, "What is it, sweetheart?"

...

Why am I spoiling you? XP

Is the implication here that Remus has PMS?

Why am I spoiling you? XP

LOL Yes, pretty much. I had thought that it was their way of expressing his discontentment with Dumbledore's assignment.... but then you see Tonks' hair is perfectly normal. ... For Tonks, I mean. ;)

I think it also implies that he has heightened senses closer to the full moon as well. Like HP3 implied he just had to be in sight of the moon to transform. Because no one else noticed but him; everyone was just watching him...

Because you wubs me. ;)

HA! For that reason, you need to see it! 'Cause I wanna talk about that particular scene, and you're not getting any more sneaky details out of me! ;P

Oh lord, the heightened senses? Do these movies use every fandom cliche? LOL

I'm actually probably going tonight, so we'll be able to discuss!

:D HBP was awesome!

There should have been much much more Remus/Tonks! It does seem a bit random in movie-verse doesn't it? Although I still grinned like a maniac when she said "we" have to get going and called him sweetheart!! *happy sigh* I love them!

Oh and the line she says to Molly is "It's always worst on the last day of the cycle" or something very close to that. :)

Snape...oh Snape! I think Dumbledore is very very manipulative in this movie - just look at the Harry/Slughorn situation - but he knows that this is absolutely the way things have to play out for the greater good. I think Snape knows that too.
