If you go to the site, these numbers are constantly changing, constantly being updated. I'd like to read that bottom number there - the big one tited US Unfunded Liablities. It says:
105 Trillion, 673 Billion, 794 Million, 154 Thousand, 745 Dollars
These things grow by the second. The only three that tick steadily, slowly downward are the Private Debt, Mortgage Debt, and Personal Debt amounts.
Adding these totals, you owe just to pay for what we've spent and obligated ourselves to spend as a country thus far as of October 14, 2009 1:51 AM CST:
You Owe Uncle Sam: $383,190
That's how much the federal government has spent for you. How much you owe and I owe and everyone else in the country owes. Each one of us!! How many years would it take you to make that?! This doesn't include any personal debt you may have - this is just for our national expenditures, past and future.
So... when I talk about the National Debt, y'all now know what I'm talking about. 8) SHARE IT!
Politicians will tell you it doesn't matter, that national debt is good for the country. Really?? Does anyone think that balance sheet looks like a good thing? It's not even possible to pay all that as it is, and it's growing!! I think it's terrifying. Imagine what it will look like tomorrow, let alone 10, 15, 20 years from now!!
