Bubby and I played a game of Team Snipers on Reach: it was a slaughter. He scored 26 kills, but died a few times. I scored 15 kills, but died..... only once.
So after the game, this kid from the other team sent me that message. My response was "RAWRRRRRR!!!" To which he replied that we were really nice monsters. XD
I had been tempted to reply with a snarky "You were sitting ducks," but I resisted. lol - But really, they totally were.
We got a new X-Box today; the old one, a limited edition Halo 3 console, is on its last legs. It has a very difficult time reading discs, and the fan is very loud. It lasted for 3.5 years, which is longer than many laptops and top-of-the-line cell phones today, so I'm not too broken hearted.
So we went up to the Base and got it tax free with the Kinect.DIE DIE DIE Wii! I'm not so into the whole motion sensor video game fad, but at least it doesn't need a bajillion attachments and new controller for every new lame cooking game released. DIE Wii DIE!
It actually doesn't need any controllers at all. Uses voice activation, compatable with Skype... MUCH better graphics... The weakest point I've seen discussed is that it's camera technology, but it doesn't seem to be a drawback to me. Actually, Microsoft has a lot of big plans using Kinect technology. I read that they were going to carry it beyond video games, to use with desktops, laptops, TV, and more. So at the very least, I figure that I might as well become acquianted with the tech. And maybe I'll enjoy it... I'll probably enjoy it a lot more once they can get some good shooter games on it!

Date: 2011-02-08 06:02 pm (UTC)The biggest being that I just can't talk and play at the same time. It's lame, but I don't have that ability to do both; to me, it's like trying to write one thing and talk about something else at the same time. Also, considering that we've purchased 4 headsets and all 4 have broken, we've stopped buying them. >.> It's just a waste of money, and I'm not willing to try with one of those heavy duty ones just to see if spending $100 instead of $20 will translate to quality.
The other big one is that playing VGs is cathartic for me. I like being as aggressive as I want during that time, but mixing playing with buddies defeat that purpose. There are times when it's fun - your best chance of catching me in such a mood is on a Friday night - but usually when I play during the week, it's after a day of listening to customers complain or yell or cry to me about their difficult financial situations that I'm expected to find the answers to. So I want to be mean, to the point of betrayals even, but I won't expose my friends to that, and therefore I just don't like playing in parties. That way, I can play how I need to.
On a more pathetic note, something about playing in groups tends to be linked to me losing games..... Yeah, yeah. It's about playing with your buddies, but it gets SO frustrating! Why is it that when you play with buddies, your group just HAS to run into all the people with the super special X-Boxes that allow them to survive sniping headshots, three grenades, four people shooting at them, point blank shotgun shots, AND a beat down. WITH the sword? >.>
So. You've got my main reasons. My other friends have never asked, to be honest, and I've never really wanted to fess up to it considering how selfish it sounds. Seems to be so much thought into such a simple little activity that shouldn't contradict the relationship friend involves.
I turn down many of their invites too, just so you know, and they're buddies I know in RL. I'm just a loner by nature; I don't do the whole social interaction thing very well.
