So today between calls, I've been taking quizzies over Texas. :D I've picked one out that I like (it has all correct answers!) and linked to it below. I had no idea we had so many official state symbols,  though I knew most of them!

You answered 13 out of 15 items correctly!
Your score is 87%! Great job!

How well to you know Texas? Texas Symbols Quiz

I protest! How many of y'all non-Texans know your state small mammal, large mammal, or state dish? Most people don't even know their state flower! I think I deserve the True Lone Star Texan title! <.<

But dude. I didn't even know we had a state fish! O.O

Total ditto. State *pepper*? What on earth?? And a large mammal, a small mammal, and a flying mammal? Lawmakers clearly need more actual work to do ....

Indeed. Can you imagine what would happen if they had full year sessions?! I mean, they only meet every other year for... like... what? 150? 140 days?? The insanity!!

It would be one thing if peppers were distinctly American and every state had a state pepper, but...Silly!

Well... The jalepenio shot competition is a regular tradition in Texas. lol But WHY do we have so many state animals?? Big animal, small animal, I get - we're a big state, and we kind of have a... big ego... But our state flying mammal or whatever isn't even American! O_o

I got 13/15, too. And in spite of not being there now, I did live there for over twenty years, so ....

I really shouldn't have missed the state tree, but in my defense, I lived a lot of those twenty-plus years near the Gulf Coast, and really, down there, the Palmetto *should* be the state tree. LOL.

Once a Texan, always a Texan. 8)

Lol I was tossed up between Walnut & Pecan - though I think Oak would be a good choice, too. You can't go anywhere in Texas without seeing oak trees!

I dunno. The bass seemed familiar, but I really didn't have a clue. The other thing I missed was the Mexican bat thing... I mean, seriously? Souther Flying Squirrel!!! That would be awesome! But I chose the other bat. >.> And got it wrong.
