It. was. INCREDIBLE!!!
Oh. Dear. Fuzzy. I was never a Heath Ledger fan? I almost cried because he's gone!! Do tears in eyes count as crying? He was absolutely PERFECT! But perfect doesn't even describe it - him - his performance - the Joker - GUH!
Oh dear fuzzy. I can't review this without spoilers.
I cried when Gordon died. And my stomach was in knots that they changed the story so much. HOW COULD THEY when he hadn't even become Commissioner yet?! Our theater clapped when he came back, though, and oh the relief; I think I was more hearty than most. Even before Batman Begins, Gordon was always a favorite character to appear, not so much in the movies, but in the series(es?). I don't know why; I've just always been a BIG Gordon fan. And then Gary Oldman was selected to play him and.... *sighs dreamily*
And LOL: He couldn't do yelling in American. XD He totally had an accent on the roof at that part between the three of them.
Bruce Wayne wasn't in this very much. I wish he had been, but I guess Bruce didn't have much development as opposed to Batman.
Dood. Two Face was the awesome. So sad though for Dent. ;_; I cried for him, too. At the end there. And when he found the coin.
And as for the Joker.... Aww, man. He was so excellent that I can't find anything to say. I mean, I can rave, but I'm speechless. He perfected the role. Defined the evil insanity that the Joker is. He. was. amazing. I hope he gets the Oscar. An Academy award. Something. Even if he is gone, he completely deserves it and nothing less.
ETA: I had to hold in a squee for Cillian Murphy at the beginning there. XDDD YAYZ! Batman groupie!

In conclusion, The Dark Knight: Best. Movie. of 2008. GO SEE IT! You'll be on the edge of your seat the entire time and be moved more times than can be counted. It's incredible. Words can't describe this movie.

Date: 2008-07-21 02:48 pm (UTC)We went to see it again last night! XD
It's better the first time around because you don't know what's going to happen, but it was stillllll oh so good!

Date: 2008-07-21 05:55 pm (UTC)He's totally my all time favorite Batman villian! But if they do a third movie (which I'll happily go and see), I have to wonder which villian are they going to bring in. But Mr. Nolan did such a wonderful job with this movie that I'll definitely trust him to make the right call! And yes I'm pleased as punch that Batman is breaking so many records! It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside! *sighs contently*

Date: 2008-07-21 08:34 pm (UTC)We're gonna see it at IMAX eventually! :D Super excited about that. We're gonna let it be out for a little while before doing that, though; IMAX should be enjoyed without throngs of smelly, inconsiderate people. XD Plus people waited for FIVE HOURS to get seats! @_@ I'm a fan, but not that big.
I almost hope they make a new villian, because I can't think of anyone...... Well, okay. You know what would be SWEET?! Apocolypse! XD Batman vs Apocolypse! I know he's supposed to be Superman's nemesis, but everyone faces him - X-Men in Evolution, Batman teams up with Superman, etc. Of course, it'd be an entirely different type of Batman, so maybe not, but the special effects would be awesome!

It was such an awesome movie. It was actually like the movie and its sequel rolled into one!

Date: 2008-07-21 02:55 pm (UTC)I love that it's already broken so many records just in the first two days, not even counting yesterday! We're over here chanting, hoping that it beats Titanic once and for all!
I wonder which villian they'll do next. Penguin? Mr. Freeze? Ooo! Maybe Poison Ivy! :D I'd love it if they could turn around the stigma the 4th movie brought to her.

It's a bit of a mystery, isn't it? Seems like they were setting up for another Joker movie. It'll be interesting to see what route they go in Christopher Nolan's dark movieverse. So many of the Batman villains have too much cheese potential and might not fit well in this 'verse! Though I definitely trust Nolan will do a good job and make everyone forget about the horrible other ones...
Actually, when Lucius Fox told Bruce his new suit would hold up from a cat, I wondered if they're bringing in Catwoman.

That's what makes it so sad, too! Just some stupid accident - no one will be able to replace him. :(
I really liked that the new ending to Two Face; I did think in the other movie that his and the Riddler's stories were just... not there, though Jim Carey was still hilarious.
I wondered about Catwoman too, but I'm really hoping they don't! I never liked Catwoman. Maybe they'll bring in Nightwing, though - let's just skip the whole Robin phase. lol The only good Robins are in Teen Titans and the new cartoon, The Batman!

I was very surprised they actually went on with the Two Face story; I'd been sure they were setting it up for the sequel. But he couldn't have lived long with that gaping hole in his face! Infection, you know. ;)

Christian Bale said he'd quit if they try to bring Robin in, lol. Thank God...

The problem with the other Batman movies (not the Burton ones) is that they were too silly. Batman is such a dark comic, and even though some of the villains are comicy, they're not really silly. Batman the Animated Series I thought mostly always did a fantastic job of keeping these weird villains very dark, especially for a show geared toward kids. It's just wrong for Batman to be silly.

Oh the awesomness. You excited about the Terminator movie he's gonna be in? Should be interesting without the Govenator. lol

I agree, though I think the problem with the Burton ones (because I didn't like them) was that they were too melodramatic. The first one was better than the second one (because I really, really don't like Catwoman. eww.) and both were far superior to the latter two, but it was just too... too, I suppose. The cartoons were always so much better.

Date: 2008-07-22 12:02 am (UTC)Yeah, I agree about the Burton Batman films. First one I liked for Jack Nicholson, though I don't think I would now after seeing Heath...But I never had any interest in the second because of Devito. And Michael Keaton doesn't really sell the necessary Bruce Wayne arrogance and angst! Christian's really the perfect Bruce.

Date: 2008-07-22 01:15 am (UTC)The Joker never came across to me as what I always thought he was supposed to be: a geninus psycopath boardering on insanity for his "work." - Rather obsession. I thought M. Night Shaymalan got close to it with Samuel L. Jackson's character in Unbreakable - but he wasn't nearly mad enough. I mean, Joker killed Superman, didn't he? Or beat him, at least. I thought he killed him, but maybe not...? Anyway, even the cartoons didn't nail it like Ledger did.
And yes, Bale's the perfect Bruce. He's also the hottest! XD
Ugh. I've seen it two nights in a row, and I wanna see it again!

Date: 2008-07-22 01:59 am (UTC)I may have a crush on the Joker now.THAT'S her name! Ter and I were talking about that after the first time we saw it - that we wanted her to be brought in! She always had the huge weapons... Ooo! I know who they should do next: Toy Man! :D So what if he was mostly Superman? He would be awesome.

Date: 2008-07-22 06:32 pm (UTC)Dick Grayson... ah... Well, he's not bad to look at, but I never got the swooning. lol I always thought he was an annoying dork - I wanted to like him, but he was just so hotheaded and arrogant!
I saw your post! XP Can't disagree with it. ;) He'd better get an award!!!
