I've been ridiculously excited about this movie since first seeing the trailer for it last year.

It did not disappoint!

It's soooo good! Y'all all have to go see it! I want to squee, but I can't because I don't want to give any of the story away.

It's a VERY good movie; even my brother loved it, and it takes A LOT to impress him! (Seriously. He's a terrible critic.)

So... GO SEE IT!

I went to see this movie with my coworkers Friday night; it was our Team Outing. We got 3 hours and enough of a team budget to have a cheap meal and tickets to see the film. I had been dreading it, what with Oliver Stone being the mind behind it all, but had determined to enjoy myself. Well... that was unnecessary.

I can't stand Oliver Stone, but this movie... Holy cow, this movie was excellent. Really, it was brilliant!

I was extremely surprised at how a-political it was, by and large. - Oh, there were some things, but it was about Wall Street, not pointing fingers in Washington. Which is exactly as it should have been, because it affects everyone and everyone was involved in bringing it to where we are today.

I'm gonna go unabashedly all financial/economic on y'all....

If you don't understand what happened in 2008's crash, you'll have a hard time following this movie... )

All in all, I wouldn't recommend this movie for everyone. It is a really good movie, but if you're not into examining the 2008 economic spiral and pondering the systemic situation in which we as a nation and even world find ourselves today, it will only frustrate you. - Though you may enjoy the characters' saga, which was pretty enjoyable.

However, if you want to know more about what happened in 2008 and don't mind a few mental gymnastics that will call you to watch the film another time or three, I'd say this is an excellent way to get a good piece of beginner's understanding.

Iron Man 2

So I actually saw it on Friday morning. We woulda done a midnight show, but that would have been packed. Friday morning... oh, it was glorious.

All public school age children and teens were still in school. College students had early morning exams. Most intelligent parents of younger children aren't going to take their tiny ones to a movie involving Robert Downey Jr. & explosions. So it was amazingly quiet, except one part where the explosions were just too awe inspiring for a group of 4 year olds not to get excited, as well as spacious.

I've actually just been procrastinating on this because... I guess because I'm such an Iron Man fangirl that I don't know what to do with myself!

It wasn't as good as the first one, but I still loved it. SPOILERS!! )

Anyway. I'm gonna stop here, because I've babbled far too long as it is.

Iron Man 2: Go see it! :D

The Avengers is set to be released 2012... Along with Star Trek 2. Oh my gosh, how are we going to survive the sheer awesomeness of 2012's movies?
